“Mum, I told you I’d take you out for Mother’s Day” he said, lifting her over the three-foot garden fence surrounding the giant detached house.           

“But why do we have to wear balaclavas? Is it one of those trendy themed places like in London?”           

“They’ll keep us warm and we won’t catch the virus through our noses.”           

“I don’t understand.”
